This traditional set pairs the classic tools for bamboo-whisk preparation with Hachi Matcha Shincha, our limited-edition first-harvest matcha from Uji, Kyoto.

Shincha is made from ichibancha — the first tea picked of the year — and ground as soon as possible after processing rather than being rested for months. The result is fresh, vivid and different every year. Think grassy aroma, deep umami, a velvet mouthfeel and a long dry finish that keeps unfolding as the tea cools.

Best for:

How to prepare:
Sift ½–1 teaspoon of Shincha into the bowl. Add 2–4 oz of water at approximately 70–80°C and whisk briskly for about 15 seconds until smooth and lightly frothy. We strongly suggest trying it straight first.
